With the exception of Loudoun County and year round schools throughout the area, most Northern Virginia public school students will start back to school Tuesday, September 6, 2011. Each jurisdiction may have different holiday schedules, teacher work days, early release times and last day of school, however.
Fairfax County Public Schools begin September 6, 2011 and will go through June 19th, 2012 with Winter Break 12/23-1/2 and Spring Break from 4/2-4/6. For the complete calendar, visit the website here.
Falls Church City schools also begin 9/6 and have the same Winter and Spring Breaks but the last day of school for Seniors is June 13th and students in grades K-11 have the last day on June 14th, 2012. The calendar is available here.
Arlington County Public schools begin 9/6 with Winter Break 12/23-1/2, Spring Break from 4/2-4/9 and the last day of school June 20th for high school students, June 21st for middle school students and June 22nd for elementary school students.
